Purina Pet Food Recall: The Products Affected
On March 15 of this year, the FDA was alerted to the fact that dogs and cats were becoming ill and some were dying from the consumption of certain types of pet food. After an investigation into the matter, the FDA discovered that there were contaminants in some of the vegetable proteins that were imported from China into the United States to be used in a variety of different pet foods. Many companies that manufacture pet food were affected by this news, and the Purina pet food recall became one of many over the next two months. While the discovery and subsequent recall caused much concern for pet owners all over the United States, it appears that all of the food has been found and taken off of store shelves, so that pet food can be considered safe once again.
