It is unfortunate that so many Mastiff dogs are abandoned and abused. These gentle giants crave companionship and are great family dogs. Fortunately there are those who love this breed enough to establish a Mastiff rescue location for those dogs which have been found stray, abused, neglected, abandoned, or whose owners realized they could not care for them.
Most Mastiff rescue locations are dedicated to finding a new loving permanent home for these neglected pups. Some locations accept all types of Mastiffs while others specialize in a particular Mastiff breed such as English Mastiffs or Neapolitan Mastiffs. The number of Mastiffs needing rescue seems to be on the rise. These large dogs have been found abandoned at pet motels, hillsides, streets, and dropped off at shelters. Sometimes a dog is placed at a rescue location because the owner finds that he can no longer provide a home for his Mastiff pet.
Non-profit rescue locations appreciate any donations made by other Mastiff dog lovers to help in the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of abandoned Mastiffs.
If you find that you can no longer care for your Mastiff dog, please surrender it to a local Mastiff rescue location.
Adopt a rescued Mastiff dog and you will have a life long friend.
