For everybody who is buying a dog or puppy for the first time then how exciting! This is usually a very happy and remarkable time period for you and all your family members. A new puppy is really a terrific family animal and a brilliant companion for his or her master. They are able to bring huge happiness to your household and so the trusted owner should give as much back to the pet just as they receive from him or her. Despite this being an exciting time you actually genuinely need to take a moment to consider the new animal’s dietary needs. Serving your pet the right types of food will certainly have a big impact on their health, his eyes, skin and coat and so you should understand it properly.

If your new family dog is actually a young puppy dog you need to get a reputable puppy food. This isn’t a gimmick – young dogs have varied dietary requirements to mature dogs, demanding higher amounts of protein and fats because of the fact they’re extremely energetic in addition to developing at a speedy rate. Dry dog food is certainly well suited for your new pet, but if it’s too hard at this early age you can put in a little tepid to warm water which will make the food mushy. To begin with, your pup needs somewhere between 4-6 meals on a daily basis. This reduces to three to four dishes when the puppy gets to 3 months old. As soon as your adorable puppy gets to his first birthday 2 dishes everyday ought to be ample.

From a year you may make the switch to a grown-up dry dog food. You can even begin to offer doggie snacks like gnaw sticks and even chewy bones. But, don’t give left over bone from poultry or lamb. Most of these bones are small and brittle and can choke your dog if perhaps he or she swallows it. Purchase your doggie treats from a professional dog food shop and avoid anything sugary. Gnaw sticks are generally an important treat as they help to keep your dog’s teeth in excellent, clean condition. It’s also advisable to not encourage your dog to have your own meals. They will often sit with pleading eyes while seeing you eat however this particular behaviour should not be encouraged.

If you are providing a complete dried commercial dog food then you must consistently provide a dish filled with fresh, clear drinking water during each meal.

If you are unsure about the type of food your dog ought to be eating, or in case he or she appears to be over weight or underweight then contact your vet who should be able to give you guidance about serving sizes and necessary protein levels required by your dog’s particular breed.

If you are trying to think of the most enjoyable season for dogs and their owners is probably summer.Plenty of long warm days and evenings mean ideal walking conditions. What could be better than a brisk morning walk or gentle evening stroll with your dog?The fresh air and exercise is good for your health and your dog will love you for accompanying him on his daily walk. But there are a few dangers around during the summer months that every dog owner should be aware of.

BBQ Parties

A BBQ is often the highlight of the summer. Many of us will allow our dogs to join us in the garden when cooking outdoors. However, a BBQ is actually quite hazardous to a dog.A dog will not realise that the BBQ is hot, possibly until it is too late. And a lively dog may easily bump into the BBQ, injuring or burning itself. Furthermore, the food that we humans love to consume is simply not good for your dog.You may think it will do no harm to offer him a burger or sausage and the likelihood is that he will beg for more. However, such greasy food offers little nutritional value and will only result in your dog becoming a fussy eater; one who expects to be fed from your plate.Instead, offer him a tasty bowl of his favourite dog food. Plus, your dog could end up choking on small bones if you offer it chicken wings or drumsticks.

Supply lots of fresh water

It is cruicial that you incorporate water into your dog’s daily diet.During the hot summer months water is vitally important so your dog does not become dehydrated.Offer a bowl full of clean water during every meal and make sure that this dish is topped up throughout the day. When you are out with the dog remember to take a supply of water with you.He will certainly be grateful for the refreshment.

Dogs in Cars

If it is hot outside you should never, ever leave your dog locked in the car, even for what you believe will be a matter of minutes.Instead, take your dog with you wherever you go, or leave him at home.

Animal Friendly Sun Screen

Dogs are as vulnerable to the sun’s rays as humans.Did you know that you can now buy sunscreen for your dog, which is great for the times you know he will be outside in the sunshine for prolonged lengths of time. Pay close attention to those areas with little fur coverage, such as the nose and ears.

Unscrupulous dog breeders, who’re generally inside the “puppy-farm” industry only for money, can inflict misery and loss of life on innocent creatures that would normally be long term household pets and buddies. There are some simple guidelines which, if observed, may well put such individuals out of business, and provide the puppy a good contented existence.

Be wary of sellers selling more than 1 or two dog breeds

When meeting the seller note the environment

View the dog more than once

Request to see the pedigree paperwork and additionally make certain the breeder’s identity is on the certification

The breeder really should find out about you and your family too

You can ask to observe the puppy dog together with her Mother – you should be extremely suspicious if you can’t

Dogs bred commercially, indiscriminately and therefore thoughtlessly are most likely to…

Have illness

Have temperamental complications

Find adapting to family living challenging

Possibly be challenging to housetrain

Experience bodily disorders with hereditary weaknesses

Just think thoroughly before purchasing and don’t buy the dog mainly because you have sympathy for it.Make sure you can always afford to buy a good quality puppy food and then a suitable dog food product for when the dog is older. If you ever work with an unethical trader or breeder, you may be assisting their particular trade in misery. Every one you buy, another will take their place.Buying a puppy or pet dog in fine health and fitness is necessary for its personal well-being as well as your bank balance. Comply with this advice, and mankind and dog will be long term friends

Significance of Immunisation

Unless adequately immunised, your dog might contract a deadly transmittable disease for example parvovirus or leptospirosis. This may also affects humans. Dogs also need to be guarded against liver disease, distemper and kennel cough, all of which are lethal.

Worming is vital too

Your six-week-old dog can easily shed around ten million Toxocara ova in one full week if it is not medicated. Management of Toxocara egg shedding is essential for animal and human well being. (Toxocara is the one which leads to blindness in kids)It’s advocated that a puppy dog really should be wormed from 2 weeks old, plus the new mother needs to have also been wormed on a regular basis throughout her pregnancy.A second dosage needs to be given from five or six weeks, and also at 8 weeks, the mum must have the third dose. Make sure you see the breeder’s signature confirming confirmation of dose.

If you are a dog lover, you may feel that one dog is not enough. However, before you add a second dog to your household, there are a few important points you should consider.

The temperament of your pet should be your first consideration. To avoid fights, you should seek to pair your dog with a dog of a dis-similar nature, that way they should be able to establish which dog is the most dominant. If you ignore the personalities of the dogs you are really setting yourself up for an unhappy pairing between the animals. Also, if your existing pet is submissive and quiet avoid homing a dominant dog with a strong personality because it will find it easy to bully your first dog.Hopefully, you have a dog that does not lean too far in either direction.

The size of your dog is the second considerationTry and adopt a second dog with a similar breed to the dog already living with you.A large dog can easily hurt a small dog.If you already own a big dog it can be possible to add a smaller dog to the home, but only if the big dog has a placid nature.

Gender is another consideration. For example, if you own a female capable of reproducing she may be very anxious if you introduce another female. You may need to alter your dog before she will accept another female. She may still show some aggression after being spayed, so a male puppy may be a wiser choice.(Of course if you do pair a male dog with a female you need to make sure one of them is neutered or it won’t be long before a new litter of puppies arrives!)

Age is another important consideration and you should avoid pairing a very old dog with a puppy. An older dog will have far less patience and energy and may not want to interact with a puppy. An old dog is far more likely to get on well with an adult dog.

Some breeds of dogs have more trouble accepting a new puppy than other breeds.Toy dogs can often be soiled, jealous and keen for their owners attention. These toy dogs often dislike the addition of a puppy into the home.More aggressive and dominant dogs like pit bulls are also not good at accepting a new dog into the home.Happily, there are many dog breeds out there that mix well, so do some research first and you should be able to find a suitable partner for your pooch.

Lastly, think about whether you can actually afford a second dog.Dog’s are not cheap so make sure you can afford to pay for the dog food, vets bills, vaccinations and accessories.

With the many commercially prepared dog foods available on today’s market, it is often quite difficult to tell which ones are better than others and why.
Firsly, don’t allow yourself to be misled by bold marketing claims. Some of the bigger manufacturers spend millions each year trying to convince you that their food is the best.Price is usually the main indicator of quality and budget dry dog food are, more often than not, inferior to their higher priced rivals.
You want to make sure that the adult dog food you are feeding is 22-25% protein and 15-19% fat.The protein should come from a good quality meat source. All dogs are different and their age, mobility, lifestyle and breed will have an effect on the amount of protein and oil that they will require in their diet. If you are in any doubt you should ask your vet for advice. In order for you to make an informed decision, you must know which ingredients are better than others. Check the label for the following ingredients: Quality beef, lamb, turkey, chicken and fish plus vegetable oil and rice.Meat needs to be the number on ingredient on the list. Chicken is fine for dogs but be cautious if chicken is the main ingredient. If the entire chicken is being counted as an ingredient this may include the beak, claws and even feathers.
Try and source a dog food containing vitamins and fatty acids. Some examples include Vitamin E, Omega 3 and 6, etc. These are very important for a healthy looking skin and coat.Artificial preservatives should be avoided.Where possible you should also avoid food which looks to contain excessive amounts of cereal, wheat, chicken by-products, soy and gluten. Such ingredients are hard for any dog to digest and can cause health problems in later life, so you really do need to avoid them.A sweet tooth is not only a problem for humans – dogs love the taste too! But avoid feeding sugary foods or your dog will quickly become a fussy eater.

Greyhounds are unlike other dogs in that they have very specific and unique nutritional needs.Presevatives and additives are added to many mass market dog foods, and just like we see in children, these “hidden extras” can have a negative effect on any dog’s behaviour.Behavioural problems with greyhounds also generally lie within what they are fed so a good quality food with no artificial flavourings or preservatives and no genetically modified ingredients is essential.

Greyhound Food is available from quality pet stores and is great for feeding to retired and rescued greyhounds.Unless your greyhound is overweight, it does no harm to feed them as much as they want to eat at first.

If you want to make sure your greyhound has a glossy coat, bright eyes and healthy skin then look to buy a food product which contains quality fish oils. You could also consider adding a teaspoon of cod liver oil into the breakfast feed or perhaps tinned pilchards, sardines or tuna (no brine) should be given two or three times a week.Just remember that if you are feeding a dry pet food to any animal it should be served with a bowl of fresh water.

As dogs in the wild would have been forced to catch their food their bodies are good at digesting raw meat. You should avoid feeding raw pork or poultry as these meats can contain bacteria. As dogs are not carnivores (they are actually omnivores) you need to ensure that you feed a good mix of carbs, proteins and fats.

A specialist greyhound food is the only way of ensuring your pet gets the right balance of nutrients needed in his diet.

Looking after a pet is a really rewarding part of life, and caring for them is relatively straightforward but there are things to consider when buying food for your dog.The type of food and the amount of feed that you give to your pet has a great effect on the animal’s health and appearance.

Many of us make our buying decision based on price, but you should also pay close attention to the ingredients within the food if you truly want to buy the best dog food.Choosing the appropriate dog food can enhance your canine’s skin, eyes, teeth, energy, and overall health. When shopping for dog food make sure you check the ingredients list stated on the packaging.

As dogs are carnivorous it is widely accepted that their diet should contain good quality meats.Bearing this in mind you should only every purchase dog food where meat is the very first ingredient.Stay away from foods that are made of meat by products. These foods substitute items such as feathers, skin, and beaks for real meat.Soya is another ingredient to avoid. It has been discovered that numerous dogs are allergic to soya products.

There are now specialist dog foods available that in addition to providing a nutritionally balanced meal can also improve certain aspects of the animals physical well-being.For example, you can now buy dog food that has been formulated to help clean the animal’s teeth whilst she is chewing.Omega 6 and 3 oils are becoming an increasing element of any good quality pet food and are vital if you want your dog to have health skin and a glossy coat, so look for food containing such oil.

If you have an active dog and are struggling to satisfy her appetite then you should consider purchasing foods high in both protein and carbohydrates as these will help to keeo her energy levels high.As your dog gets older you must alter the diet. An older dog does not require the same amount of caolories or carbs as a younger more active dog.
Just as with dry dog food, if you buy canned food remember to always check the ingredients label and avoide buying if the main ingredient is water or animal by-products.Water is used as the main ingredient in many varieties of canned pet food and the sole purpose is to lower the cost.If you feed your dog food from a can then you will also want to give your pet bones for crunching. Eating crunchy bones keeps a dog’s teeth healthy.

Research is showing that a good quality dog food packed full of the right ingredients provides enormous boost to your pets overall health and appearance. While theses foods are often higher priced, the additional cost that you pay is well worth the positive difference that you will see in your dog.

I was concerned about my five-year-old Maltese, Heidi, because her skin seemed dry and flaky, and her coat did not seem as full and silky as usual. Initially, I was not that troubled much for I thought it was just because of the dryness in the house during the winter months. But it never cleared up. Actually, it even got worse. Pet Pain Relief

Each evening, when we went through our usual routine of snuggling together while I watched the evening news, it seemed like she was jumping off my lap every few minutes to scratch and, as soon as she got settled down, she would respond to yet another itch. When your baby is suffering in pain, it is really difficult to get a full-night’s sleep.

When I mentioned Heidi’s irritation to our veterinarian, Dr. Ava Frick, at Heidi’s appointment, she asked if I might possibly be bathing Heidi too often or using the wrong shampoo. Although both are common reasons for a dog to incur skin irritation, but I use a very mild shampoo and do not bathe Heidi that often.

As I am diligent about preventing fleas from ever becoming a problem, it is out of the question. She only goes outside to play for a bit each day and to relieve herself, and I am careful to have the yard treated in order to prevent fleas.

Having those possibilities ruled out, Dr. Frick and I had an interesting discussion regarding how essential fatty acids are necessary to a dog’s healthy coat. I was worried about the possibility of Heidi having some sort of deficiency in her diet, although I thought I was making the best choices when purchasing her food and treats.

I found out that healthy fats play a vital role in keeping a dog’s coat in good condition. You cannot get the proper nutrients that will support healthy skin and coat from low-quality commercial dog food. Improperly balanced homemade dog foods often lack proper nutrition, as well.

Omega-3 is also beneficial for a dog’s skin because of its anti-inflammatory effects. They are good aids for dogs suffering from allergies or other inflammatory skin diseases. They are great since they can also lessen itchiness as most dogs irritate their skin by excessive scratching.

Dr. Frick provided some changes to Heidi’s diet, which includes addition of supplements. She said that I should start to see some improvement in Heidi’s skin and coat within about six weeks of starting Omega-3 supplementation, and she was exactly right.

My dog’s skin and coat are prettier than ever. Best of all, Heidi no longer deals with irritation that led her to excessive scratching. Pet Chiropractic

Cat owners are sick an tired of their furry friends being continuously ill and need to take responsibility for keeping them healthy. They are considering that diet may be the problem and some are migrating to raw cat food as an alternative. Surprising to a large amount of non-believers, the animals are showing signs of recovery.

Providing your feline with a raw diet may be the most wonderful thing that can be done for its health and energy. Cats that are given a rigorously balanced diet of raw food have a tendency to live longer, more energetic lives and do not seem to have the same conditions that are plaguing many cats nowadays as a effect of eating cooked foods.

Cooked commercial cat food is frequently made of animals that died of illness or reject animal pieces of animals that were given steroids and hormones. This cat food has sometimes been determined to be tarnished with chemicals and lethal bacteria that might potentially harm your pet.

For this reason, selecting a raw diet for your animal is a sensible call. The problem though is that going raw may
possibly be a sizable obligation on the part of the owner, particularly if the animal has been mostly raised on cooked food . The switch-over to raw can be hard, and preparing certain home-made recipes can be demanding. However, the health advantages of feeding your feline friend a well-balanced raw food diet utterly trump the sacrifices, and the price savings for food and veterinary care over the life of your cat are worth it.

Raw vegan cat food is typically available, but it can be costly, so most raw food enthusiasts choose to make their own by using recipes. As an alternate choice, there are supplements that may be added to fresh ground beef or cut beef chunks and water which can provide all the balanced nutrition your cat requires to flourish. These ‘all-in-one’ sort of products are highly convenient, but may not be thought about as pure and as fresh as making it yourself following a recipe in your own kitchen. The supplements work perfectly for many raw foodists, but others like to prepare it all from scratch themselves from the start, giving them total control over all the ingredients and the creation. And there are others who don’t wish to use animal flesh at all.

You can quickly find raw cat food dishes using the internet that will meet your preferences and price range and at the same time meet the nutritional requirements of your pets. When making your own, it’s important to chop up the plant material totally so that is easily consumed by your pet. It’s been recommended that raw food recipes for cats is best made with only above ground vegetables, with carrots being an exception . Herbs might be given in a number of cases but should be added in tiny amounts during the adjustment time frame. Info concerning plant grinders and any other tools you may need is generally found with the recipes that will need them.

This may sound like lots of money and work, but if there is even a little fact to the health advantages of “being raw”, and your feline buddy actually means something to you, the labor of love is certainly worth it.

Homing a new Greyhound or Lurcher

Greyhounds and Lurchers are lovely, sensitive pets who seem to really enjoy nothing more than plenty of hugs along with a comfortable down comforter to doze on. They are devoted to their keepers and love treats like a mellow 20 minute stroll two times every day. Exercise is essential for greyhounds and they ought to be provided with space to run and play. Decent masters will certainly also support the overall health and wellbeing of the greyhound or lurcher by simply providing the dog high class, specialist greyhound food.

Regrettably some of these extraordinary pets have had an unhappy beginning in life, often having been used for racing or even hunting, after that the moment his or her “usefulness” has expired by the age of only 4 years old many are eventually left undesired, abandoned or even put to sleep. Pups are obviously well-liked and with their lively personality in addition to adorable appearance it really is hardly surprising that when people decide on a new dog they will choose a new puppy. However, offering a house for any mature greyhound can be equally satisfying plus most of the time an older pet dog can make an infinitely more appropriate addition towards the home.

For all those greyhounds that have been abandoned by their keepers life can be fairly unhappy. The lucky ones at some point reach the safe haven of a Shelter Centre prior to discovering their own forever homes. These kinds of Rescue Centres engage in an very helpful task simply by offering any health care necessary to deliver the dogs back to complete health and wellbeing, mend shattered bones, restore broken spirits plus reverse lost faith. There are many Rescue Centres across the country and should you be seeking to own a greyhound or lurcher as a new pet make sure you try to home it through a rescue centre. Re-homing will certainly enhance the lifetime of your pet considerably.

Once you have brought the new family pet home you need to seriously consider the standard of food you supply it with. Greyhounds and lurchers have a very specific healthy diet and if you visit the animal medical practitioner or even high quality animal store you will find specialist food available specifically for these kinds of dog. Don’t end up being way too concerned with the price of any advanced top quality specialist food as you will discover the serving sizes are significantly small compared to a comparable supermarket bought product. The cost for each portion of the specialist food will be approximately the same as a less costly, supermarket type product and in the long run will be far better for your dog. An excellent, veterinarian authorized pet food product is much more likely to provide your pet with the correct degree of fibre, protein, nutritional vitamins, oils, minerals and fats, leading to a sturdy, healthy and balanced body, vivid eyes and a lush, sleek coat.

For people who have pets, they’re a part of the family. Because of this, pet health care should be as important to us as our own health care.Visiting the vet can be expensive, but knowing the basics to keep your companion healthy may help by reducing the need for medication and surgery in later life.

Bigger animals such as cats and dogs must be vaccinated when they are puppies and kittens. Although this is expensive, it cannot be forgotten.Vaccinating your pet saves money and heartache in the long run since these simple injections protect against life threatening conditions.

Cats and dogs must also be treated for fleas, ticks and worms. Preventing these pests might seem expensive, but prevention is better than cure.
Making sure you pet is happy and comfortable is very important in pet health care. All pets should have an appropriate place to sleep.Cats may not stick to one single place, instead choosing to curl up on your sofa. Dogs on the other hand should be provided with a warm bed. Rabbits and hamsters need a warm bed made from appropriate material too. Hamster bedding is available in pet shops, but shredded paper will do nicely too.

The food your pet eats will also have an impact on their health. It sounds like a joke, but pet obesity is on the increase in the UK, so choose their food carefully.Although they love it, cats shouldn’t be given too much fatty milk, so save that for treats. It’s easy to get into the habit of feeding your dog human food from the table.A little of this is ok, but remember when he’s at the table begging for food that he also has dog food to eat, so not to give him too much. Fresh vegetables are a favourite of rabbits, and varying their diet will do them good.

Exercise is very important for pets. Even small hamsters need to be able to run about, so you should give them the biggest cage you can. Hamsters should be taken out of their cage to exercise; the plastic balls you can buy in pet shops are great for them.Be careful though, hamsters are great escape artists and easily lost if you take your eye off them. Although cats will get their own exercise, they love to stay active with toys at home. When it’s cold outside, some cats are reluctant to go out, even though you feel sorry for your cat, a gentle push in the right direction is good for them.Exercising your dog is easy, because most dogs love a good walk. Giving your dog the right amount of exercise is vital.A general rule of thumb is the bigger the dog the longer his walk should be, but vets can advise on this.

These are very simple considerations which are very effective in giving your pet a healthy lifestyle. You should always take your pet for an annual check up with the vet, but giving your pet a healthy life is vital to your pet health care regime. To prevent heartache and costly vets bills, this advice is vital.

Many pet owners prefer dog grooming home solutions to professional grooming; in times of financial crisis any saving is welcome. There are advantages and disadvantages about dog home grooming, since the grooming activity is time consuming. Statics show that short-haired small breeds are the most compatible with dog grooming home conditions. Special-maintenance breeds are a different thing, and without professional hair, a pet owner can hardly cope with dog care.

Click over here for extra information about eagle pack dog food.

Another issue with dog grooming home solutions is equipment. Anyone who grooms the pet at home needs a minimum of supplies and tools for the operation. Brushes, clippers or grinders and even a grooming table are actually considered basic. Scissors and combs are optional, although on many occasions they are a must. Don’t forget about special shampoos and cleaning solutions. Dog grooming home practice is a responsibility that cannot be taken lightly or treated superficially because this may have serious repercussions on the dog’s health.

One important thing to remember is that what you feed your puppy will have an impact on their coat. A natural puppy food will make your dog’s coat gleam and be easier to look after and look fantastic.

Look for tips and suggestions related to dog grooming home conditions. Try to find out about the possibly special needs of the breed and talk to the veterinarian if you notice any injury or health problem under the dog’s coat. If you only perform a superficial grooming, hair bumps or lumps hiding health problems may pass unnoticed. The advantage of professional grooming here is that such cases are easier to find and signal on thorough cleaning. Moreover, do not resume the dog grooming home routine to brushing and occasional baths, because the nails, the teeth, the eyes and ears require attention and care too.

You will find more worthwhile information about cesar dog food here.

Nail trimming should be performed once a month at least, depending on the length of the pet’s nails. Great care is necessary because lots of vein injuries happen when you cut nails too short. Dog grooming home care therefore requires lots of patience: you have to treat the dog gently because few pets like their paws touched. In fact, you need to take breaks while nail trimming and offer small treats to your dog. In conclusion, you may save money with dog grooming home solutions, but you’ll definitely put time and effort into it. The choice is up to you!

The average lifespan of dogs usually is from 12 to 14 years old. And having your dog exceeding these average lifespan for him is already a surprise and one thing you should be thankful for. However, it’s not that easy to take care of dogs especially the aging ones. Creating an environment where there will be enough room for aging and retirement for your pet is always a challenge. So to help you create the perfect care for your aging dog, let me give you some helpful tips.

1. Change the dog foods. Unlike when your dogs where young, when dogs grows older they don’t need the same amount of food that they once had. A senior formula dog food should replace that once dog food they had. Senior dog foods have few calories, perfect for preventing obesity and other related illnesses for dogs. However, if your dog still asks for more, you can do so. Try adding green beans or carrots in his meal. He will definitely love them.

2. Play and exercise. It doesn’t mean that because your dog is old that they should also stop from exercising and playing like they once had. The more your dog moves around, they will be able to keep moving and maintain adequate functioning and self concept. You can still bring your dog to a short distant walk in the park.

3. Watch the diet. As your dog grows older, be careful on the things you feed him. Diabetes, pancreas, heart and kidney diseases are common in older dogs. Make sure you give them foods with low fat, low calories and rich in protein. A home made food is also healthier compared to commercialized foods.

4. Visit your vets regularly. Provide a regular veterinary check up for your dog to monitor whether they have thyroid irregularity, diabetes, UTI, heart or kidney problems. Routinely check up is very important especially for older dogs since this period is the time where in many diseases and illnesses may incur at this particular stage.

Keeping your dog thermoregulated all the time is also another way of taking care of your older dogs. Because older dogs has cold intolerance, a large heated dog bed will be best for him. And to fully take care of my older dogs, I always buy a large heated dog bed for them. They are comfortable to sleep with and definitely keep my dog well thermoregulated especially during extreme temperatures. Vets recommend them! You should have one now!

If you are looking at the wide range of dog food suppliers, it can be hard to know which are good and which are bad in the grand scheme of things. Naturally, you want the best for your pooch, but the food you feed it also needs to be affordable. Also remember that some dog food suppliers don’t always make the food for the dog’s benefit. So, read the following information to determine which dog food suppliers are good and which aren’t.

1) Pet Love – it is important that the dog food supplier you are interested in places the love and care of dogs at the top of their list. If they don’t love dogs, why are they making dog food? It is a sad fact that some brands do it just for the business of making money, but thankfully there are mainly brands out there that do it for the love of pets. The good dog food suppliers will provide supremely tasty and vitamin-filled food for your pooch.

2) Pushing The Boundaries – always try to find the dog food suppliers who keep pushing the boundaries and do their best to continually develop the brand. New products for a wide range of dogs is important, so always keep your eyes peeled for a supplier redeveloping the brand with the dog and owner’s best interests at heart.

3) Buy In Bulk – Buy in bulk and get a good price from the best dog food supplier. In addition to this, whenever you try a new dog food brand you should always look for free samples to try on your pet first. No pet owner should keep changing the dog’s food, so bear this in mind and always opt for free samples to start with.

In order to sift out the good dog food suppliers from the bad, professionalism is important. Also, something so simple as a website should give a good indication to what the brand is like before you buy, so do some thorough research.

Research has shown that six out of ten people are dog owners, or will own a dog at some time in their lives. The way we look after our dog is important, with plenty of exercise, a healthy diet and regular health checks.
Giving our beloved dogs the best quality food is important and nowadays, with various different brands on the market, how do we know what we are really giving our dogs?
The industry for dog food is a prosperous business with both commercial and premium dog foods high in demand. So what is the difference between the 2? Premium dog food is high in nutrients essential for a dog’s well being and growth. The cheaper commercial brands contain by-products, known as ‘fillers’, which contain little nourishment but make the food taste appetising. They can also contain chemicals to make the dog bloated and seem therefore full up. These are obviously not the best types of foods to feed your dog.
Of course it isessential to give your dog the best food you can. A well balanced diet is very important for your dog’s development and health, and can only prolong the life of your dog.
The majority of commercial dog food is bought in grocery stores or supermarkets. Supermarkets chains now offer cheap brand versions of dog food and biscuits cheaper than some well known commercial brands.
Premium dog food can be purchased in pet shops or wholesalers. There is a wide range of products specifically aimed at your dog’s size, age and sometimes breed. Premium dog foods are obviously more expensive than everyday commercial brands but there are now a few ways of buying then more cheaply.
Buying your dog food wholesale will considerably cut your costs and now seemingly the most cost effective way to buy wholesale dog food is on the internet. Wholesalers sell known brand products online cheaper than in the shops so you are now able to give your dog the best quality foods at much cheaper prices.
Quality premium dog foods can be purchased such as black gold dog food to ensure your dog has the best quality of foods at discounted wholesale prices.

Whether your dog is a pampered pooch or if you think your dog is really healthy and strong, the fact of the matter is that every dog is at risk for getting heartworm disease, which is a potentially deadly condition. That is why it is critical that you protect your dog from this condition, by using Heartgard Plus for dogs.

Heartgard Plus for dogs

These pills are very popular and it is one of the most well known brands of heartworm tablets with most of the vets recommending these tablets for dogs, as they really guard the dogs from diseases.

Many of the oral medicines which are given to pet dogs are either mixed with the dog food or are given to the pet in the form of a tonic, but Heartgard plus is available in a form which is relished by the dogs and the dogs love eating it. The chewable medicine tabs contain beef, which is suitable for almost all dogs, however it would not be suitable for dogs with sensitivities to beef.

Those pets who are not comfortable chewing the beef tablets, can chew the normal tablets.

Heartgard tablets contain Ivermectin which is given to farm animals so as to protect them from parasites, and dogs positively respond to these tablets.

The chemical Ivermectin present in the tablets helps in only fighting heartworm larvae due to its low content. Though it does not actually prevent larval heartworms from infecting your dog in the first place; the medicine prevents their proliferation so that they cannot cause any problems.

Heartgard plus cannot stop heartworms from entering your canine’s body, but it actually clears off the larvae which has already got accumulated in your canine’s blood.

These tablets have to be taken every month to ensure that the larvae does not multiply..

Heartgard plus medicines is the preferred choice as compared to Ivermectin heartworm pills since the Ivermectin tablets is not as potent leading to the larvae multiplying.

Pyrantel prevents parasites from multiplying in the canine’s body and hence it is included in Heartguard plus chewable tablets.

When it comes to de-worming and eliminating hookworms and roundworms, Heartguard plus chewable tablets are the preferred option. These medicines are ideal to wipe out both the intestinal worms as well as heartworms together.

When you get a new dog, it can be stressful trying to work out what you’re going to feed it. There are two popular types of dog food – raw meat and commercial brands. Naturally, you want to make sure you get the best dog food for your pet, so it is useful to know which route to head down.

For dogs to stay healthy, it is important to remember that they need a lot of fibre and protein. Every dog has its own nutritional requirements, and the vet will be able to advise about what is best for your pet.

It might be that you are tempted to head down the commercial route and you’re looking for the best dog food brand on the market. Keep your eyes peeled for dog food that contains good quality ingredients like chicken and lamb. An important tip is to refrain from purchasing high grain foods as these will inevitably contain many preservatives.

Many people choose to feed their dogs raw food. This diet consists of raw meaty bones, vegetables, offal (the organ part of the protein source), recreational bones, and proteins like cottage cheese and eggs with the shells. Proponents of this diet claim that it keeps their dogs healthier than commercially prepared diets, but this isn’t always necessarily true.

The Following Are Some Pros And Cons Of Both Diets:

Remember that people want their dog to be healthy so many trust in the ability of top dog food brands to create the perfect recipe for their pet. The commercial dog food names are popular because they are easy to buy and serve, whereas obtaining raw food for your pet can be quite difficult.

Those advocates of commercial dog food firmly believe that a dog gets all the nutrients it needs from top dog food brands. In fact, many people say that raw food doesn’t provide the dog with what it needs.

In contrast to this, other pet owners believe that cooking dog food isn’t good for the immune system of the dog, but to be honest this isn’t a particularly shared view across the pond.

Still, then you can argue that there is actually no difference between cooking a dog’s food and cooking human food.

Whether you choose to feed your dog the raw meat diet or go commercial by choosing the best dog food brand, it is important to be educated on what a dog’s nutritional requirements are. In addition to your own views, back this up with help from a vet.

People love their pets and dogs are the number one animal found in those homes . One of the biggest reasons younger dogs or puppies are brought to shelters is that the owners claimed that they couldn’t handle the dog. This is not the dog’s fault but the owners and with the following suggestions , you can be a capable pet owner with a well behaved and happy puppy. It will discuss items such as housebreaking your dog, training and exercising your dog and keeping the dog and your home safe with different tips like Tallahassee fence, baby gates or fence Tallahassee to keep them contained outside or in specific parts of the home .

As in people, dogs have various personalities and temperaments and that should be considered before selecting a dog as it will be a part of your family for up to 18 years. For example, a person who resides in a small apartment in Manhattan probably should not have a border collie that will have to exercise a lot and to run and fuel it’s herding tendencies . That breed would be much more happy at a home with a huge outdoor acreage or even a farm.

Once you have selected the breed and understand it a bit more you should choose to crate train it. Some people think this is unkind to put the puppy in a crate but it isn’t and many times if you use it from the start the dog will find it to be their safe area . If you do not want to have to buy more than one size crate and just want to own one that will accommodate the dog when it is fully grown, you should to reduce the size of it while training your young dog . This is because they may think they may use it to go to the bathroom in one part and sleep in the other part . To make it smaller just place a box in the back part of the crate and have the available space just big enough for them to sleep in comfortably. The kennel should be used at night time when you go to bed in addition to when you leave your home .

The next thing you want to do is to purchase a high level organic food for your young dog . Unfortunately, many brands of food that are sold at grocery storesavailable at shops are full of unhealthy fillers and have been known to cause chronic health issues and earlier deaths so the type of food is imperative . The difference in having a good food can also improve their behavior, their fur and coats and their ability to be trained so ask your veterinarian for what they suggest and understand that buying a more expensive organic type of dog food is worth it for your dog’s well being .

The best method to have a happy well behaved dog is a frequently exercised dog. Frequent walks and throwing a ball for them in the outdoors will help them to behave properly and easier to train.

Your dog is your best friend so you need to make sure that your little pal is taken care of. That means that you want to ensure that they are getting the best dog food that you can get for them.

You cannot help but wonder, what is dog food made of? Well dog food is actually a mixture of plant and/or animal material that has been specifically defined for dogs to eat.

There is the traditional day by day food that you present your dog for meals day by day, as well as then there is special fodder that you might give your dog as a remedy at present and again. There are several dissimilar forms of dog food on the store so it is crucial to include a good|nice handle on the modes that are presented accessible for your particular friend.

Dry dog food is certainly popular with pet owners. It is very popular because of the price tag associated with it. It is typically less expensive than other types of food, and it has a fairly long shelf life. Dry dog food, or kibble, is basically made through a two-step process that involved extrusion and baking.

Wet dog food is also quite popular. Typically, you will find this wet dog food stored in a can. This food is significantly moister than other foods on the market. Typically, this type of food is higher in protein when compared with dry dog food, but it is worth noting that it is also higher in fat.

Do you know that dog allergies happen quite more often than many people might suspect? Problems that can arise from these kinds of allergies include the internal organs and also the skin areas. The digestive system is also known to suffer as well.

These allergies develop due to their dogs consuming the usual diet for a prolonged window of time. Data has proven that dogs who have eaten the same type of food for more than 24 months often are the main causes of these dog allergies.

Yes this is not easy to distinguish initially as many pet owners are not aware what might be causing these allergies to their dogs. There are a few factors that can cause this besides food- induced allergens. One reason can be due to the change in seasons of the year.

Do not underestimate this factor as often the dust or weeds can wreak havoc on your dogs immune system. Take note that if you dog suffer from allergies only due certain times of the year then there is a good chance that this is due to seasonal factors. Or if your pet dog suffers from problems in their skin or ear during their puppy stages, then it is likely heredity and points to genetic factors.

Among the many ingredients found in dog food, your pet can react badly to any of them. Generally speaking milk products and dairy-related stuff will more often than not cause allergy problem among dogs. Look out for certain kinds of meats like beef or grain like products.

These food produce sometimes contains artificial flavorings that can create allergic reactions for your pooch. Lastly for food-related factors, take very careful note of fruits as they can also cause problems for your pet dog.

As always, the best advice is that if you think your pet dog is itching or showing any symptoms of dog allergies, take them immediately to the veterinarian. Get a full body checkup. These tests can usually spot right away what are the true issues that your dog is suffering from.

If you dont really like the idea of sending your beloved dog to the vet just yet, you could try to remedy it yourself if the conditions are not serious. One way is to first remove all the normal foods your dog normally eats. Then slowly introduce back each ingredient back into their diet. Once you see the allergy signs appearing after adding in enough food ingredients, you can isolate and guess what the allergic-causing agents are.

Try out this method for some time, say about a month or two. If you achieve good results with it than you may not need to visit the vet any longer. However if the situation persist, then its time to see the doctor.

As a side note, certain dog breeds are more prone to allergies than others. They are labrador retrievers, terriers and bull dogs.

by G D Williams

Recent research has suggested that higher levels of protein in your dogs diet could result in kidney failure. Do you know if what you are giving your dog is safe? Are you harming the health of your furry friend by giving too much protein in your dogs diet?

These studies that established a link to high protein levels and kidney failure that started the fears about protein levels in a dogs diets was not researched properly. The research was performed on rats, not dogs. Rats in the main eat plants as their normal diet. Consequently a rats biological constitution would mean it would have problems digesting a diet containing high levels of protein. Rats have trouble excreting protein due to their natural dietary requirements, not because the high protein diet causes kidney failure.

Thus, where do we stand on protein in your dogs diet? Dogs are naturally omnivorous. In the wild, dogs would hunt or scavenge for food. Your dogs diet would normally be of both animals and plants. Naturally dogs are meat eaters too. Because of this, a dog can easily manage with a diet consisting of 30% protein or more.

When the protein consumption is lowered in a dogs diet, renal function does not improve. Renal lesions are not less likely to form when a dog is being fed a low-protein diet. It is not until a blood urea nitrogen, or BUN, test indicates a level of 75, then a reduction in protein consumption should be considered.

If you have concerns about the amount of protein in your dogs diet, schedule an appointment to speak with a professional on the subject. Your trusted veterinary can advise you on the specifics in regards to your dogs diet.

It is not correct that dogs can not ordinarily digest high levels of protein. Kidney problems do not result from having high levels of protein in your dogs diet. Large amounts of protein are digested safely in your dogs diet, specially when they mainly come from animal origins.

10 amino acids should be given in your dogs diet through protein. Only twelve of 22 amino acids can be made in your dogs liver. Because of this meat such as heart, spleen, and meat by-products should all be in your dogs diet.

If you buy high-quality dog food it should contain meat as the main ingredient. This will supply the right amount of protein in your dogs diet. If you think about a dog in its natural environment, would you see a wild dog grazing in a cornfield at mealtime?

Senior dogs should not be put on lower protein diets just because of age. As a matter of fact, some aging pets need a dogs diet that is higher in protein than when they were at a younger adult stage. Unless your veterinary advises not to, you should always provide your pet the advantage of quality protein in your dogs diet.

Feeding your dog protein should not cause you concern. You want what is best for your dog and nature tells you that protein will help your dog to thrive. If you have questions about the myth of protein and kidney failure in your pet, speak to your veterinarian about your dogs diet.

The suspected contaminate responsible for the Natural Balance pet food recall is a rice protein concentrate imported from China and used as an ingredient in certain types of pet food. The recall affected pet food for both dogs and cats.

What Caused The Recall?

The Natural Balance pet food recall is one of a number of recent pet food recalls linked to the industrial chemical, melamine. Melamine is a chemical used in the production of plastics and is sometimes used as a fertilizer in Asian countries. Although the chemical is not considered highly toxic, its presence is not allowed in either human or pet food. The US Food and Drug Administration suspects that melamine is responsible for sickening hundreds of household pets in the United States, including those who ate the contaminated Natural Balance pet food. The industrial chemical is said to cause liver failure in the pets it has sickened.

Including the recall of Natural Balance pet food, the number of recalled pet food products number over 100 million units. Only a small number of the recalled foods have been found to be contaminated and not every pet that ate food from the recalled brands have become sick. The contaminate has been found in both the rice protein concentrate and a wheat gluten concentrate manufactured in China and imported into the United States. Both items are used as ingredients in certain pet food items and were sold to a number of pet food manufacturers.

The company that manufactures Natural Balance pet food informed the US Food and Drug Administration that it had detected the presence of melamine in the rice protein concentrate imported from China that had been used as an ingredient in a variety of cat and dog foods that had been released to market. The Natural Balance pet food products that had been affected were hastily recalled and an alert was issued by the US Food and Drug Administration warning the public of the problem. The company no longer imports the rice protein concentrate from the manufacturer in China. To date, hundreds of pets have been sickened by the consumption of food contaminated with melamine and the investigation into the cause is ongoing.

In recent months, a Natural Balance pet food recall was issued to remove contaminated products from store shelves. The reason for the recall was that Natural Balance had discovered a chemical contamination in a number of the products that the company manufactures. To prevent a large number of pets from becoming ill or dying from eating the contaminated products, the Natural Balance pet food recall was issued quickly and products believed to be affected were removed from store shelves.

What Is Responsible For The Natural Balance Pet Food Recall?

The contaminate believe to be responsible for the Natural Balance pet food recall is an industrial chemical called melamine. Melamine is commonly used during the production of plastics and is sometimes used as a fertilizer in China and other Asian countries. The chemical is not approved for use in either human food or pet food and is believed to have caused severe kidney damage and kidney failure in pets who have eaten products contaminated with the chemical. Melamine was found in two ingredients commonly used in the manufacture of pet food; wheat gluten and rice protein concentrate. Both of these ingredients are used to add much needed protein to dog food, cat food, and some varieties of pet treats. All items containing these ingredients that could have been contaminated with melamine are on the list of recalled items.

The Natural Balance pet food recall is not the only pet food linked to a melamine contamination. Over 100 different brands of pet foods were added to the list of recalled items as the investigation into the contamination continued. Overall, nearly 100 million units of pet food and pet treats have been affected by the recall and the number of pet sickened or killed by the contaminated food remains unknown. The US Food and Drug Administration continues its investigation into the cause of the contamination and related pet deaths. In the meantime, pet owners are urged to obtain a list of items affected by the Natural Balance pet food recall and other pet food recalls. The items on these lists should be removed from the home immediately to prevent harm from coming to your pets.

Many retailers are offering refunds for the return of products affected by the Natural Balance pet food recall. The manufacturer acted quickly to minimize the damage caused by the contaminated pet food, but numerous pet deaths had been recorded before the source of the problem was discovered. If you suspect that your pet has consumed any of the items affected by the Natural Balance pet food recall and the pet begins to exhibit symptoms of kidney failure, such as lethargy, vomiting, and loss of appetite, emergency medical treatment should be obtained immediately to save the life of your pet.

There are few things cuter than a Beagle puppy, which is undoubtedly why this breed has continued to maintain its reputation for being one of the most popular breeds to have as a family pet.

If you have decided to serve your dog nutritious natural dog food there are numerous factors you should consider. Check the labels and choose items that have no or very little processed food substances in them. Processed food typically loses a significant amount of the nutrients your dog needs in order to stay healthy. Look for a natural dog food that has fresh meat or meat meal as its main sources of protein.

Carbohydrates and Grains

Try to avoid products that contain high levels of carbohydrates and grains due to the weight increase they will likely produce in your dog as well as health problems. Select a dog food that lists vegetables and perhaps fruits on the label since these types of food items typically contain antioxidants and vitamins that will contribute to the health of your pet. Natural dog foods that place beneficial sources of fats in their products such as fish oil or sunflower oil are good choices for your pet. Fish oils typically contain essential fatty acids and often contain digestive enzymes which help to maintain your dog’s healthy condition.

Most pet experts believe that natural pet foods are healthy for your animals and will contribute to a long lifespan when compared to basic pet food. Natural dog foods usually contain mostly whole foods and they typically only use natural substances to preserve the food products. They are usually void of meat by-products, high quantities of corn and flour. They contain whole grains as opposed to fragments of grains that are typically found in dog food products available at grocery stores.

Fresh Food

Natural dog foods are usually made with fresh food products which contain higher levels of natural enzymes and antioxidants as well as a variety of minerals. Quality dog foods typically use highly advanced coking procedures to ensure that the important nutrients are not destroyed during the cooking process. Raw natural vegetables and fruits contain more nutrients and vitamins than cooked vegetables and fruits.

Some veterinarians suggest feeding your dog a natural raw food diet, at least for some of his meals. Some veterinarians believe that health problems such as allergies and inflammatory bowel diseases can be prevented or eliminated by feeding your dog a raw food diet. Raw food diets can also be effective at reducing or eliminating numerous chronic diseases and degenerative diseases. In order to keep your dog healthy and active you might want to feed him healthy natural dog food.

There has been an ongoing debate about natural vs commercial dog food, one that is important for all dog owners to be aware of. After all, the food that you feed your dog is going to have a major aspect on your pet’s overall health, so you want to make sure that you choose the best food possible.

Natural

When it comes to natural vs commercial dog food, there are advantages and disadvantages to both. One of the most major advantages to natural dog food is that you know you are giving your dog only the purest most natural ingredients possible. This means your dog will have better digestion and be less likely to get diarrhea or constipation.

Commercial

Commercial dog food tends to have more additives and preservatives, and although still provides your dogs with essential vitamins and nutrients, at the same time are filling your dog with ingredients that if anything are going to end up hurting them. Many commercial dog foods result in making dogs overweight and this is then a whole other problem that has to be dealt with.

In the discussion of natural vs commercial dog food, one of the best ways to decide which you want to feed to your dog is by taking a look at the top few products in each category. For natural dog foods for instance, there is the holistic original dog food by Riplees Ranch.

This dog food includes ingredients such as chicken meal, brown rice, steamed oatmeal, chicken fat, rice bran, whole ground flax seed, beet pulp, salmon oil, natural chicken flavors, chicory root, dried whole egg, yucca schidigera, glucosomine HCI, marigold extract, carrots, spinach and tomatoes.

In the discussion of natural vs commercial dog food one of the most popular commercial dog foods is Purina dog food. Purina pet food is premium quality for healthy, happy pets, and the Purina Company is always sure to use their knowledge and expertise to consumers’ benefits. Purina truly advances the science of canine health care and nutrition and has provided millions of dogs around the world with unsurpassed nutrition and excellent pet care products.

Besides taking the debate of natural vs commercial dog food into consideration, there are other things you should think about as well when it comes to your dog’s nutrition. Making sure they get plenty of exercise for instance, is also going to make a difference in terms of their overall health and happiness.
