Do you have a dog that barks at everything that moves and even at things that don’t move? Is he uncontrollable when he sees a guest and has to be taken to another room and locked for a bit? Or maybe it’s your neighbor’s dog who likes to bark until late hours at night. If you have one of these problems or a similar one, you shouldn’t despair or think that you’ll never get a good night’s sleep again; what you need is the PBC00-11216 outdoor bark control system.

What is the PBC00-11216?

The PBC00-11216 outdoor bark control system is an ingenious device. At simple sight, it can’t be differentiated from any other birdhouse, but in fact, it’s an outdoor bark control system. It is possible to hang the birdhouse-like device in a tree, on a fence post, or anywhere else your imagination desires. The maximum range it can reach is 50 feet, although there are other two shorter range sets which you can also select if you want to limit its reach. As soon as the sensors pick-up barking, it will send out a high-pitched sound, which is totally inaudible to humans, that will annoy the dog and ultimately make him or her stop barking.

The system has been tested and proved safe for its use on dogs. In addition, it’s PetSafe approved, which adds to this guarantee. Another advantage is that it’s great for training dogs. Whether it stops your dog’s barking or your neighbor’s dog’s barking, the animal will soon learn not to bark without a reason. When the training has taken place, you can take down the device, or just turn it off and leave it in place if you ever want to reinforce the training.

The PBC00-11216 is resitant to water, wind, and snow. It uses a 9-volt alkaline battery, and has a battery indicator which shows you when the battery is good and when it is low. This way, you’ll know just when to replace the battery, so that you’ll never be without this clever outdoor bark control system.

Although small pets are cute and covenient, they can easily become a problem when they incurr in bad behavior, such as excessive barking at innapropriate times. To get rid of this nuisance, you would have tried pacifying your dog with dog-toys, special foods, or even comfy dog beds. Instead of inflicting any harshness on them or just waiting by their beds to keep them entertained, you can opt for the innovative bark collars for small dogs. These collars are great tools for training dogs so they stop barking without a reason.

Static-Shock Anti-Bark Collars

These collars are designed for small dog breeds, and they correct bad behavior by delivering a small static shock to the dog when it starts barking. The shock is very mild, and it’s released whenever the collar detects sound vibrations due to the dog’s barking. Being short and light-weight, they have progressive levels of the static electric shocks that are given to the dog when it starts barking. Dogs discover quickly that needless or extensive barking will trigger the static and will reduce their barking.

These collars are resistant to water and rain, so if your dog gets wet because of the weather or another reason, the collar will still function. They are powered by batteries, which can be easily replaced or recharged, according to the model. They are cost effective and practical.

Alternatives to Anti Bark Collars

The developement in bark collars for small dogs have been the inspiration for other types of collars suited for small breeds, such as spray and sonic collars. The spray collar delivers a spray of an unpleasant smell, instead of a small static shock. The smell is unpleasant to the dog, but it won’t harm it in any way. The spray catches the dog off guard and stops the barking. Similarly, a distressing sound let out by the ultrasonic anti-bark collar chafes short-sized dogs, hence they stay calm.

Summary: This article brings out the importance of small dog bark collars. It enlists the generic features of those bark collars in brief. It even talks about options to the shock collar.

by John Charles

This article is written so that you might be aware of the various forms of dog training aids that are available to you.

In order for you to be able to know and understand your dog, it is essential that you take up some form of dog training, but with such an array of training possibilities available it is not always easy to know which one is right for you and your dog.

You may or may not be aware that as your dog goes through his various stages of development, so his training needs will change. It is not true that one size fits all!

I highly recommend that you sit down and work out just what sort of training would be best for your dog. Do take into account whether or not your dog has already had any form of training.

The basic level of training, the first level, is for beginners – puppies, and those older dogs who are being introduced into training for the first time. As the name implies, your dog will learn the basic things such as when to sit, or when to stay, and when to come when called. Its quite elementary, but vital.

Next up is the intermediate level. Obviously this is a bit more advanced than basic training, and it really is not too suited to puppies. It is ideal for those older dogs who have had a bit of training, either formally in a class, or by their owner at home. The training will be aimed at teaching your dog how to walk to heel, how to fetch something when asked, and how to walk on a leash without pulling, or dragging behind.

Finally we come to the advanced level of dog training. You should only consider advanced level training if your dog has completed successfully the more elementary levels of training. What normally happens in the advanced class is that your dog is taught to respond to both your commands, and hand signals. Commands and signals such as come, stay, sit, fetch, heel, lie down, and so on.

Once your dog is comfortable with responding to hand signals then you can move on to teaching your dog how to walk beside you without being on the leash. The training will also teach your dog how to pay attention to you, and not be distracted by other people or dogs that they might see whilst out walking. This of course is indeed advanced training and hence it is only suitable for obedient and well behaved dogs.

Like all good training, dog training should also have motivators like prizes and rewards to yield better and more positive results. Hitting and yelling at the dog to make it pick up one action is not a wise technique while training. Instead of being a success, chances are that it will give negative output. So you must make sure that the dog training you assign your dog is a positive one, which indulges in positive strategies.

You must also be careful about choosing the right course for your dog”the course best-suited to it. That way, you may soon be able to boast of owning a dog that is obedient, well-mannered, well adjusted and the perfect pet one can have!

Here are some tips you can use to keep your Airedale terrier well-behaved.

1) Can’t teach an old dog – You have to start training your Airedale terrier puppy as early as possible. This way, the behavioral training that you give it will be ingrained into the Airedale terrier pet dog’s brain. Proper behavior will become almost instinctive.

2) Use, don’t abuse – Various training methods are open to you. But, there’s one thing you must remember: they only work with proper use. Some people make use of the leash or of the crate to abuse their pet. Any method of training can only be effective if used in a way that will not harm the dog. You have to be firm but gentle with your puppy when you are trying to train it.

3) Habit inside, habit outside – Before taking your Airedale terrier puppy outside, try to observe its behavior inside. This will give you a clue as to how the Airedale terrier pet dog will act outside the house. Many people say that a puppy’s behavior inside a house is very different from the way that the same dog will act in outside environments. This is not true. By observing the inside behavior of your Airedale terrier pet dog, you will realize how it will respond to you outside.

After all, if your Airedale terrier does not obey to your commands inside the house, how can you expect it to listen to your commands outside the house where there are things a lot more interesting to a puppy than your commands?

4) Keep your temper – Training a puppy can understandably be very frustrating. Negative actions such as hitting or shouting at your puppy will not accomplish anything positive. Sometimes, we have a tendency to take out our frustrations on helpless pets. Do not blame your problems on the puppy. If you know that you are having a bad day, do not even think about training your dog. Your puppy will learn nothing and that would only increase your frustration.

5) Timing – Timing is always important. You need to make corrections regarding your Airedale terrier puppy’s behavior while those corrections are still relevant. If you praise or correct with the wrong timing, you would only end up confusing the dog. Actually, the best timing you can use is to correct the Airedale terrier puppy before he or she even starts to misbehave.

One of the best ways to help your dog get the exercise that he or she needs is through exercise. Most pets are able to get this type of exercise by simply learning a few tricks that they can do.

By training your dog to do tricks it means helping them to become fit. A dog that learns how to fetch, for example, is a dog that is going to get a lot more running and movement to his day when you play with him.

Pets that are trained are often much more active than those that are not, even when the dog’s owner is not working with them. They are trained to be active and therefore continuously are moving and doing something. They are less likely to live a stationary lifestyle.

The old saying that you can not teach an old dog a new trick is not accurate. Pets of all ages can be trained to do various activities. You can do this with your dog and see his exercise level increase.

A key way to keep your dog exercising and remaining fit is to allow yourself the ability to concentrate on their needs. If you do not encourage them to play, they will not do so. If you do not take them to the park, they can not go there. With that said, dog owners can appreciate the benefits of improving their dog’s activities by staying motivated themselves on the needs of that dog.

A good way to keep yourself on track for your dog’s exercise requirements is to simply schedule time in your day to make it happen. Pets need to be an essential part of your day. You can schedule their time for exercise just as you would pick the kids up from school.

Making it a part of your schedule helps you to stick with it and it will help your pet to stay on schedule too. Most importantly, it helps you to remember to exercise your dog. Without that reminder, most people will put it off and forget, leaving their dog without this important benefit in their life.

Foxhounds were the very first of the canine races in the United Kingdom to come under the domination of scientific breeding. There had been hounds of more ancient origin, such as the Southern Hound and the Bloodhound; but something different was desired towards the end of the seventeenth century to hunt the wild deer that had become somewhat scattered after Cromwell’s civil war. The demand was for a speedier hound than those hitherto known, and people devoted to the chase began to breed it.

Head:-
Somewhat broad, not peaked like the Bloodhound, but long from the apex to the frontal bones, eyebrows very prominent, cheeks cut clean from the eye to the nostril, ears set low and in their natural condition thin and shapely, but not large, nose large, jaw strong and level, and small dewlaps, expression fierce, and with the best often repellent.

Eyes:-
Very bright and deeply set, full of determination, and with a very steady expression. The look of the Foxhound is very remarkable.

Neck:-
Should be perfectly clean, no skin ruffle whatever. The length of neck is of importance, both for stooping and giving an air of majesty.

Shoulders:-
The blades should be well into the back, and should slant, otherwise be wide and strong, to meet the arms, that should be long and powerful.

Legs and feet:-
The bone should be perfectly straight from the arm downward, and descend in the same degree of size to the ankles. The knee should be almost flat and level; there should be no curve until coming to the toes, which should be very strong, round, cat-shaped, and every toe clean set as it were.

Coat:-
The coat is hard hair, but short and smooth, the texture is as stiff as bristles, but beautifully laid.

Colour:-
Belvoir tan, which is brown and black, perfectly intermixed, with white markings of various shapes and sizes. The white should be very opaque and clear. Black and white, with tan markings on head and stifles. Badger pied a kind of grey and white. Lemon pied, light yellow and white. Hare pied, a darker yellow and white.

Height: Dogs from 23-1/2 to 24 inches; bitches from 22 to 22-1/2 inches.

A career in dog training and dog exercising is a highly satisfactory one especially if you love dogs. There are a few types of dog training careers to choose from. There is obedience training, service training and others.

Types of Dog Training Careers

Obedience training usually involves a dog training career in teaching dogs to obey basic commands and to stay quite and composed. This kind of dog training career is very lucrative especially if your reputation as great trainer precedes you. Obedience training is an essential part of getting a dog as a pet especially if you live in the city. Your dog must learn not to be too noisy and troublesome when you go put to work.

Another type of dog training career is training dogs to be service or working dogs. Working dogs are basically those dogs that can be relied on to take on jobs for their human owners. This dog training career has many variations which depend on what you will be teaching the dogs. Dogs that help people with disabilities are working dogs that are taught to safely guide their owners through busy streets and buildings.

Other types of dog training career variations for working dogs are for rescue missions, shepherding, locating contraband and many others. Working dogs are very necessary for our well being and progress. Dogs that are trained for helping people with disabilities are especially chosen and trained specially for this. A dog training career in this field is very rewarding because you get to be with lovable dogs and know that they are helping people when they go out. Guard dogs are trained to attack when an order is given and shepherding dogs are taught to look after flocks.

A dog training career can focus on any given field of dog training and dog clipping. There are many to choose from and all are rewarding. It is basically easy to train dogs since they are wiling to please their trainers and owners. This attitude is what makes dogs very easy to train. There are not a lot of dogs that are difficult to train although there are breeds that are somewhat more stubborn than others.

A dog training career may not be a lucrative one but it is an emotionally rewarding one. There are many centers that offer dog training career opportunities for those who wish to learn. All you need is to be interested in learning and to love dogs.

Boxers, although low-maintenance, require your consistent attention, exercise, human interaction, consistent obedience training and lots of love. You should not leave them to their own devices for too long or they get lonely, bored and into trouble.

Being a big and strong dog as well as a highly intelligent one, Boxers require both physical and mental stimulations to keep them even-tempered and dignified whilst still keeping their impish spirit and fearless courage in tact.

Their high prey drive (some owners called it play drive) needs proper outlets or they could become destructive as house pets, and tend to fight among themselves especially if the other family Boxers are of the same sex. The female, it seems, is more aggressive than the male.

Keeping Boxers busy is the best way to keep them out of trouble! Tire them out with long walks, 3 times per day. Give them lots of exercise, play with them, especially the inquisitive puppies or they might tear up your home out of boredom, pent up energy and frustration.

For all your love and caring, be prepared for wet slobbery drool and kisses and love in return.

Here’s what some proud owners say about their pet Boxers:
* “Having a Boxer is like having another human in a dog body with you. You can talk to Boxers and they would understand. They demonstrate feelings just like human does. If they are loved, they will love and protect you.”

* “Boxers are the most loyal companions. My Boxers bring me up when I am down. They are the canine clowns of the dog world. They are the only dogs for me.”

* “They are a gift! The two I have are always smiling and they cheer me up when I’m not too happy. They can be your friends for life!”

* “My Boxer can take up my moods or lay quietly by my feet for hours.”

* “Boxers are so intuitive, so easily bored and heartbroken. They are the definition of devotion and courage.”

Of course a boxer puppy, like any other dog breed has to be house trained the right way. Find Out more
